Inquiry in the Early Learning Classroom

Home > Projects > Inquiry in the Early Learning Classroom

The focus of this project is bringing together 16 primary teachers and two StrongStart facilitators from our five elementary schools in our rural district. We also have four teachers from our neighbouring districts joining us.
We come together to do collaborative inquiry around how to take the strengths and passions of our students and help them become more engaged and to take ownership of their learning. Every teacher in our network will be trying new instructional ideas and will focus on a student who is vulnerable in some way.
This action research will be documented, focusing on the learner and what differences we are making with our new approaches. Our network will take a closer look at the Reggio approach to learning as well as the Opal School. We too would like to create environments where creativity, imagination and curiosity thrive.
