Proposal
Students from grades 4-12 will be given ownership of their science learning by being able to choose from modules of interest that are grade appropriate in order to complete the science requirements for their grade.
By using a blended learning model for content delivery, students have flexibility over how and when they learn the course material. This also gives teachers flexibility to adapt or modify materials to best meet student needs through both changes in course materials and timing of work submission.
At the senior science level, students can choose topics that will best prepare them for a specific career, with our focus on providing skills and knowledge needed by various trades.
Each module will include a variety of teaching methods, projects that allow student choice and multiple assessment techniques. Teaching materials will be created collaboratively by a team of educators and delivered through new partnerships between schools.
